Frequently Asked Questions for Parents
Every student can learn. They just need a guide to get there. Keep that guidance steady, and keep
moving forward.
Frequently asked questions
How much does tutoring cost?
Tutoring rates range from $60 to $90 per hour, depending on the subject and program. Academic
tutoring and homework support are at the lower end, and specialized test prep such as Digital SAT
and PSAT is at the higher end.
We also offer discounted session packages for families who want a steady, multi-session plan. The
best option depends on your student’s grade, goals, and schedule, so we start with a
complimentary consultation to recommend the right fit. We are also a TEFA-approved provider.

What grades and subjects do you tutor?
We tutor students in grades 3 through 12 nationwide. Our services include Digital SAT and PSAT
prep, ISEE prep, STAAR test prep, high school math, AP Computer Science, reading comprehension,
writing mechanics and skills, private school admission essay coaching, and homework and project
help.
How do online sessions work?
All sessions are live and one-on-one with a tutor, held online through Zoom or Google Meet. Your
student needs a computer or tablet with a reliable internet connection. You will receive a secure
link before each session, and there is nothing to install beyond the meeting app.
Do you offer in-person tutoring?
No. All of our tutoring is online, which allows us to work with families across the country and offer
flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends
What is the complimentary diagnostic, and do we need one?
For SAT and ISEE prep, we begin with a complimentary diagnostic assessment. It shows us exactly
where your student is today, so we can build a plan around real strengths and gaps instead of
guessing. There is no obligation to continue after the diagnostic.
How many sessions will my student need?
It depends on your student’s starting point, goals, and timeline. A student preparing for a test date
several months away will have a different plan than a student who needs steady weekly support in
a single subject. After the consultation, we recommend a specific plan and explain the reasoning
behind it.
Who will be working with my student?
Our team is led by Mrs. Coombs, a Texas-certified educator in Generalist grades 4 through 8 and
Special Education with over 20 years of classroom experience and recognition as a Campus Teacher
of the Year. Each student is matched with a tutor suited to their subject and learning needs.
Do you write college or private school admission essays for students?
No. We coach. We never ghostwrite. Our essay coaches help students brainstorm, organize their
ideas, and revise so the finished essay is genuinely their own voice and their own work
