Mrs. Coombs isn't just a tutor; she is a career educator. After a distinguished 20-year tenure in the classroom culminating in her recognition as Campus Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Coombs chose to retire from public and private school teaching to return to what she loves most: the individual student.

After years of transforming young readers and writers in the classroom, Mrs. Coombs founded Coombs Test Prep & Tutoring Hub because she missed her students. She knew she could reach even more families online, bringing the same professional expertise and pedagogical precision that earned her recognition in the classroom to every virtual session.

Today, Mrs. Coombs uses her decades of experience in reading comprehension and verbal reasoning to lead a proprietary diagnostic process, ensuring that every minute of a student's session is spent mastering new ground, not rehashing what they already know.

A graduate of the University of Houston, where she earned her degree with honors, Mrs. Coombs also holds an associate degree from Wharton County Junior College, where she was inducted into the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Zeta Xi Chapter, a nationally recognized organization celebrating excellence in academic achievement, leadership, and service. She equips students with confident communication skills, ranging from essay and evidence-based writing to logical organization and practical academic strategies. She specializes in reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, and targeted test prep for the STAAR, ISEE, and Digital SAT. Driven by a diagnostic-first approach, Mrs. Coombs ensures every session is precision-targeted to bridge real skill gaps, never wasting a student's time on material they have already mastered.

Mrs. Sohail

Math & Test Prep Specialist

Algebra, Geometry, ISEE & SAT Prep · Grades 3–8

Mrs. Sohail holds degrees in Applied Physics, Material Sciences, and Computational Physics from Air University in Islamabad, as well as Electronics and Chemistry from the University of Karachi. She approaches mathematics as a logical discipline where every student can find success. With a patient, diagnostic lens honed by years in the classroom, she guides learners from foundational elementary concepts through the complexities of Algebra and Geometry. She excels at identifying and closing the hidden gaps that often stall progress, while simultaneously fostering the high-level problem-solving skills required for the ISEE, SAT, and STAAR assessments.

Dr. Ahmed

Science and SAT Prep Specialist

Dr. Ahmed holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Southampton, bringing advanced academic rigor to every session. With a rare ability to simplify complex concepts across physics, advanced mathematics, and engineering, he transforms intimidating subjects into structured, conquerable challenges. Dr. Ahmed does not just teach formulas; he builds the critical and creative thinking skills students need to excel in AP coursework and perform at their peak on the SAT. His approach combines deep subject mastery with genuine patience, meeting each student exactly where they are and guiding them toward independent confidence in even the most demanding courses.
